As a corps member posted to a State, you don’t desire to serve, you surely have a right to apply for NYSC relocation.
However, there are stipulated conditions that will make your NYSC redeployment application to be considered. Below is the list of the NYSC conditions for relocation.
- DG Directives
The first condition for NYSC redeployment is health issues. A corps member can apply for NYSC relocation and get approved when he or she has health challenges, and wish to redeploy to a State where s/he will get medical attention.
However, before you apply for NYSC relocation on the grounds of health, ensure you have obtained a medical report from a recognized government health center.
You can seek NYSC redeployment on marital grouds. This condition is mostly applicable to female married corps members who wish to redeploy to a State where their husbands are.
Applying for relocation on the grounds of marriage requires the female married corps member to provide the following 3 documents:
- A valid marriage certificate
- A National Newspaper publication and Affidavit showing your change of name to that of your husbands
- A letter from your husband’s workplace (this is meant to serve as evidence that your husband is domiciled in the State you wish to redeploy to).
As a corps member, you can apply for NYSC relocation if there is security unrest in the State you were posted to.
When To Apply For NYSC Redeployment
The best time to apply for NYSC redeployment and relocation is during your 21 days in the Orientation camp.
On the 2nd week of the Orientation course, corps members seeking redeployment are given the opportunity to apply for relocation.
