To enroll for BVN, you have to go to your bank and fill out an enrolment form or you do it online by downloading the form.

After filling out the form, your biometric data (fingerprint, photograph, and signature) will be captured on the system after which you will receive a Ticket ID.

Later, the BVN will be sent to your registered mobile number via SMS. However, once you register, the BVN is linked to all the bank accounts you have in the country.

4. From the drop-down menu, insert your Bank Verification Number

5. Select the Nigerian Bank where your BVN was Issued

6. Answer your Secret Question and continue

To link your BVN to your Access Bank account through internet banking, kindly follow the procedures below.

1. Login on the Internet Banking platform

2. Select the Service Requests Menu

3. Select Initiate Service Request

4. Select Link BVN

2. Link BVN Through ATM

To link BVN through ATM, kindly follow the steps below.

1. Go to a bank

2. Insert your  ATM Card

3. Select BVN Link on the transaction menu screen

4. Enter your 11-Digit BVN

5. Confirm your BVN details

6. Submit your BVN

To link your BVN through SMS to your GTB account, simply text your BVN details to 08076665555 For example BVN <01234567890> to 08076665555.

To link your BVN through SMS to your Access bank account, simply text BVN, your account number, and your BVN number to 20121. For example BVN 06812345678 22498765432 to 20121.

How to check BVN details online

It is very easy and straightforward to check your BVN details online. If you have a mobile phone and an internet connection, you can check your BVN details online by going to the BVN validation portal.

You have to know your BVN before you access this portal because you would be asked to enter it in a search box.

After entering your BVN in the search box, your details such as your name, date of birth, date of BVN registration, and your residential address at the time you register for the BVN will pop up.

Also, you can check your BVN by dialing *565*0# using the phone number you used for your BVN registration.

However, checking BVN details online through the *565*0# method is not free, you will be charged N20.
