This is a general procedure that you can use to find the serial number of an iPhone, iPad, iPod, HomePod, Mac, or other Apple product.

This is a very straightforward guide to easily find your iOS device serial number. Depending on your Apple device, you can find your serial number:

  1. On the surface of your product.
  2. In iTunes, if your product syncs with iTunes.
  3. On a Mac, by choosing About This Mac from the Apple menu.
  4. On an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, iPod, or Apple Watch, in Settings > General > About.

Also, if your device is currently not available or has refused to turn on, then the quickest methods to use are:

To find the Serial Number or IMEI for your Apple Watch,

  1. On your Apple Watch, open the Settings app.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.

This process will guide you to easily find the serial number of your iPod nano, iPod shuffle, or iPod touch. The serial number can be found in several places.

Depending on the model of your iPod, you will find the serial number either on the back case or on or below the clip.

1. On the back Case

For iPod nano and iPod touch you can find the serial number engraved on the back case toward the bottom.

2. On the Clip Face

For iPod shuffle (4th generation) and iPod nano (6th generation), you can find your serial number on the clip face that touches the back of the device when the clip is closed.

3. On the iPod About screen

You can find your serial number in the About screen on your iPod touch or iPod nano (6th generation or later).

You can use the System Information app to see your Mac hardware, software, and network information summary. To do that,

  1. Go to Utilities folder of your Applications folder
  2. Open the System Information app or better still, click the System Info (or More Info) button in About This Mac.
  3. Select Hardware on the left side of the window, then find the model name and serial number on the right.

If you can’t use About This Mac or System Information to check for your serial number, then you can simply check your device receipt or invoice to find your iOS device serial number.
