And if yes, how much do they pay?
Not every State in Nigeria pays NYSC allowance. The States that pay NYSC allowance, have different amounts they pay, and this amount increases or decreases over time.
It is generally believed that the NYSC’s highest-paying state is the best state for NYSC. This is because almost every corps member is attracted to the pay and always wants to serve there.
It is important to note that before any corps member can be paid by the State government, they must be serving in the public sector.
Corps members serving in a private organization may also be paid by their employers, only if there is a payment agreement.

1. Abia State
how much does Abia State pay Corpers? Abia State Corps members working in the state are receiving NGN5,000, while Corp members serving in private sections might be receiving more than that monthly.
2. Adamawa State
how much does Adamawa State pay Corpers? The amount the Adamawa State government pays corps members is not known. This is probably because they do not pay the NYSC State allowance.
3. Akwa Ibom State
how much does Akwa Ibom State pay Corpers? Akwa Ibom State also pays the NYSC State allowance. Corps members are paid NGN10,000 for allowance by the Akwa Ibom State government. Akwa Ibom is one of the best States for NYSC because it is known to be peaceful. The State Government also pays NGN75,000 to the corps members serving in the State hospitals.
4. Anambra State
how much does Anambra State pay Corpers? Anambra State NYSC corps member allowance varies from NGN8,000 to NGN8,500 depending on the area you are serving.
Corp members serving in the rural area are paid more than the members serving in the city. Anambra state is one of the NYSC highest-paying States in Nigeria.

5. Bauchi State
how much does Bauchi State pay Corpers? Bauchi State is paying NGN1,250 as an allowance to corps members deployed to their state.
6. Bayelsa State
how much does Bayelsa State pay Corpers? Corps members serving in the capital city of Bayelsa state are paid NGN3,000 while members serving in rural areas are paid higher by the state government. Bayelsa state is located in the southern part of Nigeria.
7. Benue State
how much does Benue State pay Corpers? There is no information about the monthly NYSC State allowance paid by Benue State. This is probably because they do not pay Corps members in this State.
8. Borno State
how much does Borno State pay Corpers? Borno State pays corps members a sum of NGN1,000 as a State allowance in addition to the monthly allowance paid by the Federal government.
9. Cross River State

10. Delta State

11. Ebonyi State

12. Edo State

13. Ekiti State

16. Imo State
how much does pay IMO State Corpers? Corps members are paid the sum of NGN2,000 by the Imo state government. It is located in the eastern part of Nigeria, and although the pay is quite low it is still one of the best States to serve as a Corper.
17. Jigawa State
how much does Jigawa State pay Corpers? Jigawa state government pays corps members an NGN10,000 allowance. It is located in the northern part of Nigeria. Jigawa is one of the best northern states for NYSC because it is safe.
18. Kaduna State
how much does Kaduna State pay Corpers? Corps members are paid NGN3,000 as a State allowance by the Kaduna State Government.
19. Kano State

26. Niger State
how much does Niger State pay Corpers? Niger State usually pays NGN6,000 to corps members deployed to the state. However, Niger State payment has stopped till date.

27. Ogun State

28. Ondo State

29. Osun State
how much does Osun State pay Corpers? Osun State NYSC allowance is NGN5,000.
30. Oyo State
how much does Oyo State pay Corpers? Oyo State also gives State allowance to Corpers serving in the State. Oyo State NYSC allowance is NGN15,000 for allowance.
31. Plateau State
how much does Oyo State pay Corpers? There is no information about the allowance paid to corps members by Plateau State. This may be because the Plateau State government does not pay corps members state allowance.
32. Rivers State
how much does Rivers State pay Corpers? Rivers State usually pays their Corpers the sum of NGN5000. However, Rivers State allowance was said to have increased to NGN15000 recently. However, the said payment has not started as indicated.
33. Sokoto State
how much does Sokoto State pay Corpers? Sokoto State NYSC allowance is NGN4,000 and 9,000 to those who serve in the state hospital.
34. Taraba State
how much does Taraba State pay Corpers? Taraba State no longer pays NYSC allowance to corps members.
35. Yobe State
how much does Yobe State pay Corpers? Yobe state government pays corps members NGN2,500 for allowance.
36. Zamfara State
how much does Zamfara State pay Corpers? Zamafara also pays the NYSC State allowance. Zamfara State NYSC allowance is NGN3,000.
37. FCT Abuja
how much does FCT Abuja pay Corpers? The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) does not pay corps members allowance, but it is still preferred by most corps members because it is quite easier to make money there.

I did mechanical engineering in my national diploma and chemical in my Higher national diploma…..any thing wrong with that……Nysc katsina state has refuse to register me because of the above statement.
